Its the first week of February, we all just got paid and may feel slightly richer than we should…so it means shopping right? In February, sample sales are sparse and high street sales are ending leaving clothes on the rails no one really wants. But fear not, there are still some great savings to be made this weekend, and we have them all on Shoparazzi.

Cheap Monday London Flagship Store Opening 17th February

As you probably know, we are getting all psyched up for the opening of Swedish brands Monki and Cheap Monday on London’s Carnaby Street. FINALLY, we have the official opening date: 17th February 2012 at NOON! Two more great stores to join London’s shopping high street. Hopefully Monki are set to open around the same time, we will keep you updated.

Tara Starlet Sample Sale February 2012

Tara Starlet are having a sample sale this weekend on Saturday 4th February at 12pm. The vintage inspired clothing brand recreates clothing from the glory days of the 1930s – 1960s for that close-to-authentic Pin-up girl and Rockabilly look. Tara Starlet clothing is stocked online, across Europe and at our Store Focus boutique Revival Retro.

The dresses and playsuits from Tara Starlet really takes you back in time with their classic revivals. Many of the items are made with original buttons and some recycled fabrics, all of which is made locally in London. Fun and quirky looks that are environmentally friendly? This sample sale is must visit! There will be plenty of bargains at this one off sale, with dresses priced from £20, trousers at £15 and tops, skirts and shorts all priced at £10. A full range of sizes will also be available (size 6 – 16) and the sample sale will only accept cash payments. 10% of all sales will be given to the Marie Curie Hospice in Hampstead, another good deed from the guys at Tara Starlet!

Shoparazzi 2.0 is Here!

As promised, Shoparazzi V2.0 is here. Yesterday we released the latest and greatest version of our iPhone app and we couldn’t be happier. We think it is a *huge* improvement over the last version of the app, but don’t just take our word for it, go and download it now!

After listening to customer feedback, we decided the app was in need of an overhaul. We’ve performed a complete bottom-up rewrite to ensure that we deliver on our promise of providing you with a clean, smooth, and bug free product. We believe that in doing so, we have made using the Shoparazzi iPhone app an all-round much more pleasurable experience that you’ll want to come back to again and again. We know that no app is perfect, so we would love to hear your feedback on what you like / don’t like about the new app, and what new features / brands / stores you would like to see in later versions of the app.

Hobbs Sample Sale January 2012

Tomorrow (26th January 2012) is the start of the Hobbs sample sale at The Dray Walk Gallery in The Truman Brewery. Since 1981, the sophisticated high street brand offers classic tailored womenswear as well as contemporary separates and shoes which represents the quintessential English look. The huge clearance sale will have up to 70% off Hobbs cooler and quirkier brand N.W.3, as well as classic Hobbs London and the Unlimited range.

Monki and Cheap Monday Carnaby Street Stores Set to Open in Febuary

Swedish brand Monki are set to open their London flagship store next month on Carnaby Street. The fun and cute Scandinavian brand will also be opening their sister brand Cheap Monday – a mature and darker version of Monki; urban and slick style with the Swedish flair Londoners and fashionistas worldwide adore – next door in the adjoining two-storey space. Both of these fashion brands are owned by H&M.

If you have been past Carnaby Street in the last month you would have seen signs up about the new space right in the centre of London’s most famous shopping streets. Monki has been a long time favourite brand of mine since discovering its quirky stores in Sweden. The stores are designed by architecture/design studio Electric Dreams, who will also be the guys behind the design concept of Monki, London. The store concept will be based on Monki’s underwater theme “Sea Of Scallops” which is also used in their main Stokholm flagship. The set themes of their shops, and the design of it, are nothing like any other on London’s high street. The stores are over the top, colourful, overwhelming and use every space possible to merchandise clothing, but the fun element and the cool factor is what will make it stand out against any other. Stepping into a Monki store is an experience all in itself; it’s not just a clothes store, you are entering the Monki World. It is going to quite exciting to hear the British public’s response to the opening of Monki! With the success of their concession in Selfridges store – which has given London a small taster of Monki’s quirky take on modern staples – we are super excited for the opening. Keep your eyes on the blog for a post about the opening!

The February launch comes just in time for Monki’s latest Spring Dance collection. The collection has the nautical theme in full flow, with plenty of stripes – vertical and horizontal – gold buttons used on double breasted blazers and plenty of navy and white. The fresh ‘Monki’ take on the nautical look means there are not only navy striped goodies, but also pastel apple greens and golden yellow perfect for spring. Check out the full looks on here.

We love when brands come together to create a great capsule collection, and what two better brands is there than Shoprazzi favourites b store and Liberty. The British brands have come together mixing Liberty’s famous florally prints with b store’s signature cuts and design to create this Western inspired range, set to be released in February 2012. The fringe details together with the ditsy paisley prints work well to modernise the cowgirl style for 2012, adding a feminine flare perfect for the summer months. We agree with Hearty Magazine…the lookbook makes us dream of summery afternoons in the park with a picnic hamper. Go away winter!
